I have two of these, one purchased in 95 which has hardly grown any, plus this one purchased in 2004. They are both kind of "spindly" and each year there is a lot of dead to prune out each year, but they seem to be pretty vigorous for highly variegated maples. The older one has lost a lot of bark due to deer choosing it to rub the velvet from their antlers.
