This is a new and exciting edible vine that I am trying. It's common name is Sandra Berry. It's known in China as the "five flavor fruit" and has berries that ripen in the fall. The berries are high in vitamin C and trace elements. The leaves can be brewed as a tea that tastes like green tea and lemon. In China the stems are steamed and used as a vegetable. It is pest free and shade tolerant. I planted it in 2008 and am excited to have berries in 2010, since on the garden web it said it would take 5 years. I have six plants, which I have growing on my rebar walkway.
