2009 Color Winners
These two maples were fluorescent red this year. On the left is A. palmatum 'Inabe Shidare' and on the right is A. palmatum 'Osakazuki' the one that is usually the star. It had competition this year from quite a few. We haven't had a really hard freeze yet this fall. Often the Japanese maples change color a little later and we will have a hard freeze, which just turns the leaves brown. The only problem we have had this year is an unbelievable amount of rain and many leaves seem to be dropping early.
